Position Reports To:

Scope of Responsibilities:

Supports the Intellectual Property department by performing secretarial functions for one or more lawyer(s)/timekeeper(s). Prioritizes work among assignments, assists in coordinating calendars, makes travel and meeting arrangements. Works on projects with specific deadlines. Operates a computer, transcriber, facsimile, copy machine and typewriter. Performs clerical tasks such as filing and coding documents for filing, organizing documents and entering client billable time on the computer. May also proofread and/or finalize client bills. Possesses good communication, grammar, spelling and proofing skills.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Must have a minimum of 2-3 years previous general secretarial experience, legal secretarial experience is strongly preferred.
    Intellectual Property experience is a plus.
  • Minimum typing speed of 60 wpm.
  • Previous experience in Windows or similar software package.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Corporate experience a plus.

Training Coordinator (Temporary)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assess skill-level and provide appropriate classroom and one-on-one training to staff and attorneys.
  2. Prepare and maintain class outlines and curricula – written and electronic - as needed.
  3. Ensure orientation of new staff and attorneys, either directly or through coordination with other staff and departments
  4. Coordinate tasks, schedules, paperwork, curricula, and other details associated with special projects
  5. Install or assist with installation of software as necessary
  6. Maintain records and files as necessary
  7. Prepare reports as necessary
Additional Responsibilities:
  1. Travel to firm locations to conduct training and coordinate special projects as necessary
  2. Keep knowledge of industry standards, teaching tools and methods, computer systems, and applicable software current
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Computer science or related field preferred.
  2. Prefer two years training in software applications, including classroom and one-to-one settings. Experience in a law firm strongly preferred.
  3. Ability to convey complex information in an effective manner to adult learners in classroom settings, as well as one-on-one, and through web connections.
  4. Extensive user knowledge of and skill with and basic technical knowledge of and experience with a wide range of computer operating systems and software, such as Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, document-management software such as Worldox, and timekeeping software such as CMS. Prefer experience with Captivate or similar e-Learning software.
  5. Ability to work with a wide range of learners, including attorneys, secretaries, and other staff, as well as the ability to work with outside vendors, technical staff, management, and staff to ensure the successful and effective completion of assigned duties.

Production Manager

Since 1990, Pohlman Reporting Company of St. Louis has been providing court reporting and litigation support services to law firms and publicly-traded companies in Missouri, Illinois, the greater Midwest, and throughout the country.
